Strut Entertainment is a Toronto-based multi-service agency specializing in music, entertainment and lifestyle with a satellite office in British Columbia. Established in 2006, our team has over 50 combined years of experience and our primary services included public relations, project and talent management, events, and social media services and influencer relations. There is a full-time, Toronto-based position open for a public relations coordinator with a passionate interest in music, entertainment, and the arts. This position will complement our music and entertainment event and talent management businesses. The position is a hybrid one. (1-2 days a week working together in downtown Toronto, and the remaining days are work from home). REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate will live in Toronto, have at least one to three years music or entertainment public relations experience (excluding internship), and excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. We are open to someone who comes from a lifestyle or corporate public relations background if they have had some entertainment or music experience, and also open to first year practitioners who may have recently completed a public relations internship at a music or entertainment company. We are looking for a self-starting, hardworking team player, who is able to work in a fast-paced agency environment, must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, PC and Mac applications, MailChimp, Canva Pro, Constant Contact (or similar), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and bring an ability to multi-task, and work independently while under pressure in our fast-paced environment. Strong customer and client service skills are essential, as are strong interpersonal skills. Must have experience in creative pitch writing, drafting press releases, creating and managing media schedules, pitching media and coordinating interviews. Marketing, social media and talent management experience are strong assets, as is event and red carpet experience. Proficiency in Canva including creating and updating templates for pitch decks, one sheets and social media is also a beneficial skill. The role will be adapted based on candidate experience and the salary will be commensurate with experience.
