S.K. Wellington is Calgary-based Sarah Kemmers, who has been writing and performing music for well over a decade, with 5 records plus a bunch of singles to show for it. After leading the band “The Wellington Folk” for 8 years, S.K. pivoted in 2018, moving forward as a solo act. Her debut solo EP was met with positive reviews all the way from her Alberta hometown to the UK. She followed the successful EP with a series of singles and is set to release her next EP in 2024. Sitting in the “perfect pocket of folk, pop, indie, and rock”, her music has been described as “Fleetwood Mac meets Deathcab for Cutie”. S.K.’s songs made Regional Top Ten in the CBC Searchlight competition four times (2014-2016, 2019) and she was nominated for “folk recording of the year” at the YYC Music Awards in 2019 and 2020. S.K. has opened for Donovan Woods, Dan Mangan, and Sarah MacDougall.
