Written Submission - What makes this person / company a great fit?:
Kandle Osborne has built her career on fearless authenticity and unbreakable resilience. Refusing to be defined by the abuses and injustices she endured early in her career, Kandle has transformed her pain into purpose — becoming both a voice and a refuge for others who have suffered within the industry. She speaks openly about her experiences as a survivor of sexual and emotional abuse, inspiring countless women to reclaim their own narratives. Many have confided in her privately, knowing she will always listen, believe, and help them find a path forward.
Despite facing repeated health setbacks from severe stage-four endometriosis — a condition that leaves her in constant, often untreatable pain — Kandle continues to create, perform, and uplift others with unwavering strength. She has become a vocal advocate for women’s health, using her platform to raise awareness and support for those battling the same invisible illness. Her vulnerability and courage have created a powerful sense of community for women who too often suffer in silence.
A true renaissance artist, Kandle fought to become an independent musician and regain full creative control over her art — vowing to never again be silenced, exploited, or shaped by anyone else’s agenda. Through sheer determination, she taught herself every aspect of the craft: producing, writing, recording, directing, and designing her own visuals. She now runs every facet of her career — from concept to final release — with uncompromising vision and integrity. Her recent works, including Creation of Poison (2025) and the acclaimed album Danger to Dream (2024), showcase not only her evolution as an artist, but her triumph as a woman who reclaimed her power in an industry that once tried to take it from her.
Beyond her own music, Kandle has been a dedicated mentor to emerging artists, especially women. She actively collaborates with, promotes, and guides young creators, helping them navigate an industry that too often exploits rather than empowers. Her dedication extends to her humanitarian work — performing countless benefit shows for causes close to her heart, from endometriosis research to domestic violence survivors and women’s shelters. In Montréal, she has been an integral part of MOND Productions since its inception, lending her voice and artistry to uplift women across the community.
Kandle is not just an artist — she is a movement. A survivor who turned her trauma into strength, a creative who built an empire from the ground up, and a leader who continues to open doors for others. Her story embodies the power, perseverance, and passion that define the next generation of women in music. She is almost always overlooked despite her incredible, undeniable achievements, and I hope very much that she will one day be recognized for all the good she does as a woman in music in Canada. -
Written Submission - How do you know the person / company:
I first began working with Kandle when she wrote a stunning Bond-inspired theme song. I was brought on to work on the music video and was instantly amazed by her powerful creative vision and her ability to bring people together through inspiration and purpose. That initial collaboration quickly grew into a deeper artistic partnership — we began writing and producing and filming together, and I now work with her full-time under Kandle Music Inc., as both a creative collaborator and a member of her live band.
Kandle is my leader, my boss, and my greatest inspiration. I’ve witnessed firsthand her strength, integrity, and tireless work ethic — she leads by example and uplifts everyone around her. I am endlessly proud to stand beside her and to be one of her biggest fans. -
Written Submission - How would this Honour benefit the nominee?:
This honour would mean the world to Kandle. She has spent her entire career fighting to be heard, seen, and respected on her own terms — not only as an artist, but as a woman who survived and rose above systemic abuse, illness, and industry exploitation. Recognition from Women in Music would validate the years of work she’s poured into building something meaningful and empowering, not just for herself but for countless others she has mentored and inspired.
Kandle gives endlessly to others — from advocating for women’s health and survivors’ rights to performing charity shows for shelters and organizations that protect vulnerable women. Yet she rarely receives the recognition she deserves for all she contributes behind the scenes. This honour would shine a light on her strength, generosity, and impact, and it would help amplify her voice as a leader and advocate for change in Canadian music.
Above all, it would show other women — survivors, independent artists, and those battling invisible illnesses — that resilience and integrity can still be celebrated, and that it’s possible to reclaim your power and thrive on your own terms. She's an absolute inspiration!
