  • Submission Type: Written
  • Written Submission - What makes this person / company a great fit?: A uniquely talented and deeply committed musician, Liz exemplifies what it means to contribute meaningfully to both their artistic field and the cultural life of Edmonton, Canada and the world.
Liz is not only a uniquely gifted alt-rock Irish fusion artist, singing regularly in both Irish and English, but she is also relentlessly dedicated to her craft. Emigrating to Canada to start a music band with a previous partner, Liz studied voice at MacEwan University following a road traffic accident that injured her larynx. She saw success with her previous band Burning Daisy, showcasing at South By Southwest, but when she knew she wanted even more information, connections and collaboration, Liz took the Artist Entrepreneur Program at Canada's Music Incubator in Toronto in 2019. Liz has sought out mentorship with professionals, including vocal coach and vocal pathologist Carol-Lynne Quinn and artist and songwriting mentorship from Forest Blakk of Atlantic Records - always seeking growth, feedback and connection. 0Stella’s latest release, Pendulum State, went straight to #1 on CJSR in Edmonton, #5 on CKUA and broke onto the Earshot National Charts the month of its release (March 2025). She has performed internationally, opening for Michael McDermott in three Italian cities before headlining her own shows in southern Italy in April 2025. 0Stella has performed for Oscar-winner Glen Hansard, and receives regular airplay on CKUA, college radio and regional CBC channels across Canada, as well as regular play on national radio and digital radio in Ireland. She is the recipient of EAC Travel Grants, Cultural Diversity Grant and Major Artists Driven Project Grant. 0Stella has performed at festivals and showcases across Canada including Folk Alliance International, Canadian Music Week, and Arts Touring Alliance of Alberta, Alberta and Ontario Culture Days, and was featured in the Emerging Artist Showcase at Showcase Alberta. She has also performed at the EPL Capital City Records Local Music Launch (a one-of-a-kind, forward thinking initiative that promotes local music while giving musicians an income far more acceptable than that of many current streaming platforms) and as a keynote performer and speaker at the Winter Cycling Congress.

Liz brings this same determination from her craft to her advocacy for sustainability and community well-being. 0Stella has cycled nearly 10,000 km across Canada and Europe, combining her music with a powerful sustainability message. She inspires people to be active, to connect, and to care. Her songs—rooted in Irish storytelling but shaped by her Canadian experiences—resonate with a wide range of audiences, including Indigenous and folk communities.
This commitment to collaboration, community and environment is beyond admirable and Liz lives it daily. She doesn’t just show up for herself—she shows up for others. She co-hosts Two Irish Don’t Make a Right on CJSR with Alan Donnelly, featuring emerging artists from Edmonton, Canada, and Ireland. On tour, she interviews and uplifts fellow musicians, sharing their stories and music on-air. She is the kind of artist who sees success as something to be shared and she passes on her knowledge and love of music, teaching music throughout the year, working with Ever-Active Schools and coordinating music summer camps for young Albertans.
  • Written Submission - How do you know the person / company: My name is Lindsay Breidenbach, and it is with great enthusiasm that I nominate Liz Pomeroy (0Stella) for this award. A uniquely talented and deeply committed musician, Liz exemplifies what it means to contribute meaningfully to both their artistic field and the cultural life of Edmonton, Canada and the world.

I moved to Edmonton in 2003 for school and have called it home ever since. I have worked as a science teacher in Edmonton for the past 17 years and started Artist Managing approximately three years ago. In 2025, I launched Multicolored Music Management, and soon after began working with Liz Pomeroy (0Stella). I first reached out to Liz while booking for an all-female songwriter round that I was promoting in my community. She was recommended by another artist manager who said, “She’s an amazing artist; motivated, really great to work with”. Although we couldn't connect for that show, she told me to keep in touch because she is always on the lookout to work with new people and other artists in the community. I followed her work online, drawn to her talent and collaborative spirit. When we met for coffee a year later, I instantly knew I wanted to work with her. We have been team members ever since.
  • Written Submission - How would this Honour benefit the nominee?: This award, this honour, would offer Liz (0Stella) meaningful recognition from her peers and the industry—affirming her dedication to artistic growth and community connection. Such an honor would provide both the support and inspiration to continue expanding her creative practice through collaboration with other artists and producers, as well as through her active involvement in workshops, showcases, and community events.
It would also help her broaden the reach of her community engagement initiatives, whether connecting with others on her cross-country cycling tours or mentoring youth through music. The recognition would empower her to continue crafting songs that not only reflect her own lived experiences but also illuminate the complexity, diversity, and shared humanity of the world around her; music that challenges, heals, and inspires.
There is truly no artist more deserving of this honor than the hardworking 0Stella. Her talent, tireless work ethic, commitment to artistic endeavors and impact on Edmonton’s cultural landscape, and across Canada, make her an exceptional and inspiring candidate for this award.
